So not Kosher

My bff J told me a little story today. J's grandma is Jewish, so J celebrated Hanukkah and Passover with her grandma when she was growing up. On Passover, a Seder Plate containing symbolic items representing the Exodus is passed around. One of those items is the Z'roa, or a lamb shankbone representing the lamb which was sacrificed in the temple in Jerusalem. One Passover, J was in charge of getting the Z'roa, but she couldn't find a lamb's shankbone. So what does one do when they cannot find a lamb bone? Apparently they substitute a bone from a pork chop! Ha ha, J!

What can you get for $2?

I am amazed. Today I saw gas for $1.999. I remember when I was a freshman in college and I freaked out because gas went over $2 a gallon, which meant filling up my 24 gallon tank cost more than half my monthly allowance. Now, my car has a more reasonably sized 17 gallon tank and it cost less than $40 to fill up. I'm not sure why gas has gotten so cheap, but whatever it is, keep it coming. I think this calls for a road trip. Anyone up for a vacation? Where should we go?

Halloween

I know you have all been dying for an update on my Halloween costuming adventure. Here are photos from the night. My friend J, was a bruised banana (you can see the bruises on her face) and I was Demeter. Here are some photos, courtesy of J, from the night.

The back of the dress (but it looks just like the front!)

My FAVORITE picture from the whole night.

Vote!

I voted. I actually went last week and voted early. I was afraid I'd forget if I waited until today. But, if you didn't go early, like me, you can still vote. To find out what issues will be on your ballot, go to leaveyourprint.com. Happy Voting!
