M and I decided to run the Legacy 5k last week. Neither of us run quickly, so to make things a little more competitive, we set time goals for ourselves. This time we missed our mark by almost 4 whole minutes (yeah, 4 whole minutes in a 5k is WAY off). Slightly saddened by our sub-par performance, we left before prizes were awarded. When I got home, I checked our official times on the race site. Imagine my surprise when I found out M got second in her age group. Not bad!

I like how you don't even call your mother mom. You HAVE to shorten it to M. Use real names! It makes it much more interesting! And true!
